    that snare drum is worth the price ($500.00) or is just a regular black beauty in sound an everything....?

    A Black Beauty is a brass snare with a black coating over the brass. So, you could get a brass snare or a chrome over brass snare and have that same warmness of the BB. Bronze drums are very nice and so are copper too.
